Abstract

These papers document Governor Lazarus W. Powell's role as chief executive in the apprehension and arrest of fugitives from justice. Included are requests to the governor for warrants on those who jumped bail, rewards to be offered for fugitives, and extraditions of Kentucky fugitives from other states. Also included are copies of pertinent indictments and case histories.
